Our Chairman, Dave Nicholson, had the pleasure of interviewing young Max Johnson fifteen months ago in 2018 following his heart transplant at the Freeman Hospital. His parents, Emma and Paul Johnson, have now written a book called Golden Heart about how waiting for Max's new heart affected the family and their ups and downs over the months he was in hospital.

The book has now been launched in the same month as the 25th anniversary of the Organ Donation Register and all the proceeds are going to three charities - The Sick Children's Trust, The Children's Heart Unit Fund and Inspired by Keira. It was Keira's heart that Max received.

If you read this book it will tell you of what the family went through over the months Max was in hospital.

Golden Heart is available in paperback published by Austin Macauley RRP £17.99.
