About Us

Radio Tyneside is a radio station based in Newcastle upon Tyne, England which is designed for hospital patients and those in the hospital community of Newcastle and Gateshead.

On-air since the 6th October 1951 we have grown from a once a week football commentary service to a 24 hour - 365 day service which includes specialist programming, dedications and we still provide a commentary on all of Newcastle United's home football matches live from St. James Park.Â

We broadcast to the Hospital Community of Newcastle & Gateshead on 1575 Medium Wave and now listen live online.

We also broadcast to most of Newcastle & Gateshead's hospitals on Patientline channel 1.
